The Cherry Blossom Centre, RehabCare Ballinamore  

Are having a fundraising coffee morning on Wednesday the 22nd of November at 11am. On the day we will also be having a bake sale, raffle and our Drama group will be performing their short play "Keeping up appearances" . All money raised on the day will stay local.  We would really appreciate local support for this event, All welcome. "  


Ballinamore Athletic Club training continues on Tuesday and Thursday at 7.00 p.m. and new members are welcome to join any night. On Sunday next the club will be sending a number of competitors to the Connacht Even Ages Cross Country Championships which are taking place in the grounds of Westport House.  On Saturday there is an Athletics Ireland Leader Course for coaches in the Sports Hall and Den commencing at 9 30 a.m. with registration and refreshments in the Den from       9 00m a.m.  Applications must be made to Athletics Ireland in advance and not later that Thursday October 19th. They are made through Eventmaster using the link  https//eventmaster.ie/event/m3rLuyVFM8 with enquiries to 089 2129811. Forty participants completed the Ballinamore Greenway Parkrun in relatively unfavourable conditions last Saturday. First home was Stepan Kratochvin 1n 19.31.  There were twelve new participants and five set personal bests. 


FREE EVENT: ‘Ages and Stages’  

 is a production which is written and performed by members of Cavan Older People’s Council facilitated by Maura Williamson. The play tells the stories of the journeys undertaken in life from childhood to older years. It is taking place on Tues 14th Nov & Wed 15th Nov at 8pm in Town hall Cavan. BALLINAMORE COMMUNITY SCHOOL – ENROLMENT: Enrolment Open Night takes place in Ballinamore Community School on Thurs. 16th Nov at 7pm. Application forms and enrolment details will be distributed to all local Primary Schools ahead of enrolment or can be obtained by contacting the school directly at 071 9644049 or by email office@ballinamorecs.ie. Please bring students Birth Cert, PPS No, Educational Reports and Eircode on the night. 



QQi Level 4 Plant Identification every Wednesday from 10am-2pm. QQi Level 3 Garden Planning every Thursday from 10am-2pm. Both courses are free to everyone over 18. To register call or just call up to Seamus 087 916 8087.


Connacht Champions 

Over the years we have wrote many a match report where we got so close, nearly got a cross the line, just missed out, narrowly beaten with a big well done for the sacrifices and effort. This time it’s different we did it, Connacht champions, doesn’t that sound mighty. We could fill the Observer with platitudes and thanks for this fantastic group of players and superb management team, they certainly put the effort in and it showed in a very tough contest.Next up its an All-Ireland Semi-final !!!! 
Club AGM 
The Club AGM will take place in the clubrooms on Sunday November 26th @ 6pm Nomination Forms and other Documents will be circulated in due course Spread the word. 
Leitrim Gaels fundraiser 
Good luck to Tom Prior who is taking parts in the “Quid Games” for Leitrim Gaels hoping to win and raise 5k in prize money for us and at the same time raise funds for Leitrim Gaels !! Over the coming weeks Tom will be arranging fundraisers and you can sponsor and support Tom as well, the link is on our Facebook page

MALACHY MOSES ANYOKO-SHABA: from the diocese of Minna, Nigeria who has taken up his appointment as C.C. in Ballinamore-Drumreilly Lower and to provide pastoral assistance in the parishes of Kildallan, Corlough & Templeport. In welcoming Fr Malachy Moses, who will reside in Ballinamore, we thank him for his generosity and willingness to actively participate in the mission of Kilmore Diocese.  


MONTH OF THE HOLY SOULS: In November we are invited to remember and pray for all the faithful departed. In all our churches a number of masses will be offered for deceased members of our families. It would be appreciated if you would bring in the list of those you wish to be prayed for along with your donation in the envelope provided, which may be put into the offertory boxes or left in the Safe in Ballinamore church. Please leave only the list of the dead in the special box close to the altar.                                                                      (Do not leave any money in this box) 

MASS OF CONSOLATION FOR THE BEREAVED: Takes place in Aughnasheelin Church on 24th November at 8pm 


THE REMEMBERANCE TREE: is a way of remembering deceased loved ones, please write the names of loved ones on a label and hang on the remembrance tree in Ballinamore Church. Please sit and pray for a while. 


BALLINAMORE PARISH: has setup an online interactive portal. This allows people to light a candle, pay contributions, and make donations online. Scan this QR code with your smart phone, https://churchtv.ie/ and follow the links for your Church to make a donation. The light a candle feature allows you to light a candle instantly in Ballinamore Church from anywhere in the world 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 


A MISSIONARY GROUP FROM BETHLEHEM, THE HOLY LAND are visiting Ballinamore & Drumreilly Lower Churches on the 25th & 26th of Nov. to sell religious articles (Crucifixes, Nativity cribs, and Plaques) made out of olive wood from Bethlehem to help support the poor Christian families living there, your help and support is much appreciated 



SOCIAL DANCE IN AUGHNASHEELIN HALL: Friday 17th Nov. Music by the popular LIMELIGHT from Armagh. Dancing 9.30 to 12.30, and refreshments served. Doors open 9pm

There are 2 Events planned for November 2023; Thurs 23rd Nov – a Libraries Symposium, a one-off event to complete our Cross-Border Reading Project. The evening will comprise of a number of seminars, discussion groups, and culminates with a special roundtable event – Exploring the themes of the project; looking at similarities and differences from the books chosen related to borders/boundaries, good relations, equality, and peace and reconciliation. A number of our high profile authors will be in attendance. Refreshments will be served throughout the evening, and will run from 5pm – 8:30pm in the island Theatre, Ballinamore.   


Fri 24th Nov - Celebratory event All welcome for an evening of celebration and recognition of the achievements of the ‘Better Together – Níos Fearr Le Chéile Peace Impact Programme 2022 – 2024’ A celebratory evening in tribute to the accomplishments and achievements realised by the project and it’s participants over the past 2 years. The evening will be an insightful experience, showcasing the journeys, efforts and contributions from all involved. TEMPLEPORT DAY CENTRE: Due to reconstruction work in the Community Centre for the next few weeks. Day Centre activities are taking place in Tom Regan Hall in Ballyconnell. Busses will go directly to Ballyconnell, so this is a reminder to anyone who usually drives to come to Ballyconnell Hall at the usual time. Usual transport arrangements. New members welcome. LINE DANCING CLASSES: We welcome back John & Julie for Line Dancing classes in Corlough Community Centre at 8pm Tues eves 14th, (not 21st), and 28th Nov. Cost: €7 Adult & €4 under 18's must be accompanied by an adult.

LEITRIM PPN: invites all members community and voluntary, social inclusion and environmental groups to a gathering on Mon 13th Nov at 7pm in the Bee Park Community Centre, Manorhamilton. Hear about the work of the PPN, information on funding for groups, the new climate action plan, opportunity for all local groups to network and share ideas, food will be served and there will a raffle. This service is free with experienced friendly tutors, will assist people to overcome issues they are facing using digital technology. HEDGE CUTTING GRANT SCHEME 2023/2024: This scheme is now open and aims to encourage the cutting of roadside hedges/trees along the Public Road Network. Open to all, individual applicants, communities and groups. The Grant is €75 per km of the roadside hedge/overhanging trees which are cut back. Minimum length of road network per application is 1km.
