Ballinamore Comhaltas October session 

Takes place in The Island Theatre this Sunday 22nd 6.00-7.00.  Led by the very talented Rachel McGovern. All levels are welcome from beginners upward. Spread the word.

Following this the Ballinamore Comhaltas Branch AGM will be held from 7.00-8.00. 

We would love to see some new faces there whether it be parents of young musicians, music enthusiasts of anyone interested in doing something to better our community and meet new people.

Show is a fundraiser for Ballinamore Family Festival, Which will take place on Saturday 4th November in ‘The Island Theatre’.  Doors open 7.15pm Curtain 8pm.  Book your seat through www.islandtheatre.ie

Ballinamore Badminton Club every Tues at 9pm in Ballinamore Sports Complex. €3 per night, pay as you go. All levels welcome. Racquets available to borrow.



Ballinamore Athletic Club training continues on Tuesday and Thursday at 7.00 p.m. and new members are welcome to join any night. On Sunday next the club will be sending a number of competitors to the Connacht Even Ages Cross Country Championships which are taking place in the grounds of Westport House.  On Saturday there is an Athletics Ireland Leader Course for coaches in the Sports Hall and Den commencing at 9 30 a.m. with registration and refreshments in the Den from       9 00m a.m.  Applications must be made to Athletics Ireland in advance and not later that Thursday October 19th. They are made through Eventmaster using the link  https//eventmaster.ie/event/m3rLuyVFM8 with enquiries to 089 2129811. Forty participants completed the Ballinamore Greenway Parkrun in relatively unfavourable conditions last Saturday. First home was Stepan  Kratochvin 1n 19.31.  There were twelve new participants and five set personal bests.



There are 2 Events planned for November 2023; Thursday 23rd Nov – a Libraries Symposium, a one-off event to complete our Cross-Border Reading Project. The evening will comprise of a number of informative seminars, discussion groups, and culminates with a special roundtable event – Exploring the themes of the project; looking at similarities and differences from the books chosen related to borders/boundaries, good relations, equality and peace and reconciliation. A number of our high profile authors will be in attendance. Refreshments will be served throughout the evening, and will run from 5pm – 9pm in the island Theatre, Ballinamore.  

Celebratory event – Friday 24th Nov – All welcome for an evening of celebration and recognition of the achievements of the ‘Better Together – Níos Fearr Le Chéile Peace Impact Programme 2022 – 2024’ A celebratory evening in tribute to the accomplishments and achievements realised by the project and it’s participants over the past 2 years. The evening will be an insightful experience, showcasing the journeys, efforts and contributions from all involved. Refreshments will be served throughout the evening, and will run from 3pm – 7pm in the Island Theatre, Ballinamore. For more information please call 087 383 5513

please pray for the souls of Noel Logan, Trathnona, reposing in Smith’s Funeral parlour on Saturday from 6 to 7 pm, funeral mass in Corraleehan Church on Sunday at 9.45 am and Padraic Mulvey, Aughnasheelin remains arriving in Aughnasheelin Church for 7pm on Sunday funeral mass on Monday at 12 noon.
we welcome into the parish community Éile Mulvey and Odhrán Quinn who were recently baptised.  Congratulations to their parents and families.

Harvest Mass of Thanksgiving
bring the community of Oughteragh & Drumreilly Lower together in St Bridget’s Church Corraleehan on Sunday 29th October 2023 at 9.45am.  we would like to invite all parishioners, who have grown any fruits or vegetables, baked homemade goods or jarred honeys/jams and would like to decorate and display them on the altar, to do so on Saturday, October 28th at 5pm.  Local food producers and those in tourism are asked to participate.

Cash for clobber

Scoil Chlann Naofa is holding a “Cash for Clobber” collection.  Bags of used clean clothes, bedding (no duvets or pillows accepted), curtains, handbags, belts, and shoes (shoes should be in pairs and in a separate bag) may be left in the shed to the rear of the After-School Building between 9am and 10am on the morning of Monday 6th, Tuesday 7th, Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th of November.  Bags will be collected on Thursday the 9th.  All donations should be clean and in good condition.  All support is greatly appreciated.

local Foróige Districk Council are offering training adult leaders later this month, if interested please contact Shane 086 1084116 this is worthwhile well recognized training, and leaders hours can contribute to Social Studies (AUT) practical hours.
