Ballinamore Agricultural Show Society.

The Committee of Ballinamore Agricultural Show Society wishes to extend its gratitude to all the businesses who sponsored this year's event, without your support the annual show could not take place. Thanks once again to the large crowd who attended on the day. We were fortunate that weather conditions were great for the event. We once again thank all our Stewarts and Volunteers for all their hard work for the days before and after the show, A special thank you to An Garda Siochana and Leitrim Civil Defence for their assistance on Show Day. There would be no show without exhibitors, many of whom travelled long distances, We appreciate the big efforts of our exhibitors. A Special thanks to the various Judges who also travel long distances and freely give their time. Thanks once again to the Creamer FamilY, Castleroggy for the use of their excellent facilities and to Ballinamore Tourism and Staff for the use of the Show Office. 
Congratulations to the Festival Committee who organised a great week's entertainment for the large numbers of visitors to Ballinamore.  Festival week 2024 will take place August 11th -18th with Show Day on Tuesday  13th August 2024.

FREE ATHLETICS LEADER COURSE: Those taking part will receive full manual and AAI Coach Qualification - here at home on a Saturday. Please submit your name by text 089 212 9811 or email griffinpdg42@gmail.com if interested by Thursday August 31st it is vital that we get people trained and qualified before club training at the start of October.



The course will begin in Cavan in September

This is a walking programme for people recovering from cancer treatment. The programme aims to bring participants to a level of fitness where they can help reduce their risk of a recurrence and improve their health and quality of life. Recommended by the Irish Cancer Society, it is individualised for each participant’s fitness level with a personal schedule which gradually increases every week over the 12 weeks.. Organised by the Cuan cancer social and support centre, the course is free and is suitable for all levels of ability. A friend or family member is also welcome to take part. CHURCH GATE COLLECTION 26th & 27th AUG - LADIES GAELIC FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION (LGFA): Wish to thank all who gave so generously to last weekends Church gate collection, with collections in  Ballinamore €268 & Aughnasheelin €130. Your contribution helps to maintain the organisation in the coming year, and we are very grateful for your generous support.


BALLINAMORE ATHLETIC CLUB: The track & field season finished with the fine performance of Mark Prior taking seventh in the National Community Games Under 10 Hurdles last Saturday. Cross Country training begins Tuesday October 3rd. Parkrun open to all ages and abilities  is available each Saturday at 9 30 am. 



BALLINAMORE YOUTH MUSICAL SOCIETY: announce our first musical production ‘The New Wizard of Oz’ to be staged in the Island Theatre, Feb 2024.  This production will be open to children from 3rd class to 2nd year. A parent - guardian info. Meeting is in the Island Theatre, Mon. 11th September @ 8.30pm sharp. We hope to see you there!

There are 2 Events planned for November 2023; Thursday 23rd Nov – a Libraries Symposium, a one-off event to complete our Cross-Border Reading Project. The evening will comprise of a number of informative seminars, discussion groups, and culminates with a special roundtable event – Exploring the themes of the project; looking at similarities and differences from the books chosen related to borders/boundaries, good relations, equality and peace and reconciliation. A number of our high profile authors will be in attendance. Refreshments will be served throughout the evening, and will run from 5pm – 9pm in the island Theatre, Ballinamore.  

Celebratory event – Friday 24th Nov – All welcome for an evening of celebration and recognition of the achievements of the ‘Better Together – Níos Fearr Le Chéile Peace Impact Programme 2022 – 2024’ A celebratory evening in tribute to the accomplishments and achievements realised by the project and it’s participants over the past 2 years. The evening will be an insightful experience, showcasing the journeys, efforts and contributions from all involved. Refreshments will be served throughout the evening, and will run from 3pm – 7pm in the Island Theatre, Ballinamore. For more information please call 087 383 5513

QQi LEVEL 5 COMPUTER COURSE: Mohill Computer Training Centre are now recruiting for a full - time QQI Level 5 computer programme. This course Starting on 11th September 2023 will help to upskill, gain employment or access third level education. There are a few places available. Sympathy Is extended to the friends and family of the late Noel Smith who sadly passed away on Saturday. We ask all members and supporter to please keep Noel and his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
