Bealtaine Festival: Age and Opportunity Event at Ballinamore Library

To celebrate Bealtaine Festival, staff at Ballinamore Library are hosting a special event on Tuesday 9th May at 7.30pm.  Carrie Creamer will give an interesting presentation entitled ‘Ellie’s Shoes’, which is about her grand aunt, Ellie Creamer from Bawnboy, County Cavan.  Through film, presentation, and artworks, Carrie will share stories and will shines a light on their invaluable contributions and give voice to the often-unheard stories of rural women in Ireland.  Free event and everyone welcome.

THE ISLAND THEATRE: Splódar Theatre Company will perform their fantastic new play “The Last Prime Minister

IN THE MIDST OF PLENTY: is a new folk musical from Enchanted Croi Theatre touring Ireland and coming to Mullingar Arts Centre (May 25th & 26th), Town Hall Cavan (May 28th) and Backstage Theatre, Longford (May 31st). The show tells the story of the lengths the starving tenants on the Strokestown estate in Roscommon went to in order to survive the Great Hunger, and their exodus along what is now known as the National Famine Way. Exploring themes of Irish womanhood, family, community, and rebellion, this production peels back the curtain of antiquity surrounding the Great Hunger and presents the reality of this true story in all of its bare, heartfelt authenticity. THE 'LEITRIM WOMEN THROUGH TIME' exhibition is currently residing at Ballinamore Library. The exhibition tells the stories of everyday Leitrim women from the past. The exhibition was formed as a result of the first phase of a collaborative heritage project created by the North Leitrim Women's Centre and Scéal Heritage Consultancy.

GARDENING CLASSES IN OLD VOLCATIONAL SCHOOL: Continue every Wednesday & Thursday 10am to 1pm. No need to reserve a spot call up to Seamus on Wednesday morning for more information.

STEP INSIDE THE MOHILL ENTERPRISE CENTRE: Discover the opportunities that are on offer at Mohill Enterprise Centre Open Day on Friday 28th April 10am -5.30pm.  Everyone is welcome to drop in throughout the day to see the wonderful IT facilities and hear about the courses on offer, and the hot-desking and remote working facilities in this thriving Community Hub.   The event is taking place in support of the Government’s national campaign promoting Remote Work and showcasing all these hubs as great places for investment, enterprise and remote working.

PADRE PIO HEALING MASS: You are warmly invited by our Parish Pastoral Council and community to join with us for our annual Padre Pio Healing Mass in Saint Patrick's Church, Ballinamore on Thurs. 25th May at 7 pm. Br. Bryan Shortall, National Director of Padre Pio Ministry, and Br. James Connolly will attend. There will be individual blessings after the Mass with Relics of St. Pio. Many healings have been attributed to the intercession of Saint Pio and large crowds always attend the healing Masses dedicated to his life. Everyone Welcome.
