IN THE MIDST OF PLENTY:

is a new folk musical from Enchanted Croi Theatre touring Ireland and coming to Mullingar Arts Centre (May 25th and 26th), Town Hall Cavan (May 28th) and Backstage Theatre, Longford (May 31st). The show tells the story of the lengths the starving tenants on the Strokestown estate in Roscommon went to in order to survive the Great Hunger, and their exodus along what is now known as the National Famine Way. Exploring themes of Irish womanhood, family, community, and rebellion, this production peels back the curtain of antiquity surrounding the Great Hunger and presents the reality of this true story in all of its bare, heartfelt authenticity. More information at www.inthemidstofplenty.com or email inthemidstofplenty@gmail.com.  Box office contacts: Mullingar 044 9347777, Cavan 049 4380494, Longford 043 3347888. Ballinamore Tourism

Hi everyone. Re my email last week about the meeting on Wednesday. We have to postpone th meeting as most people can not attend. We will have to have an AGM very soon, if anyone know of anyone who would be interested in joining the committee can you let them know and we will arrange a meeting soon. There is one topic that needs to be addressed now. There is funding available for works at Garadice. This was signed for about a year and half ago. Terry had originally signed for it. The funding is for improvements at Garadice Visitor Amenities of €20,000 the Tourism has to put €1062.50. Can everyone reply if they think we should go ahead with the funding? We need a decision by end of week. Bryan Fennel the Rural Recreation Officer from Leitrim Development Company is overseeing the project.
