Community Information Day Thurs 23rd March 

At The Bee Park Community Centre, Manorhamilton from 11 to 2.  This is a FREE Community Event and a wonderful opportunity for the public to come and learn about the resources and supports available in Leitrim. The event will provide you with a chance to meet and talk to representatives from Leitrim County Council and An Garda Siochana, along with a vast selection of local health, educational, social and support organisations too.
Free blood pressure and blood glucose health screening will be available and live talks will be delivered by An Garda Síochána, Muintir Na Tíre, Animal Welfare and the HSE. Light refreshments will be served, and everyone will receive a goodie bag worth over €30! 
Event organised by An Garda Siochana, LCC, LDCo, Munitir na Tíre & Leitrim PPN.

DONATIONS TO NEW STAINED GLASS WINDOWS IN ST. PATRICK’S CHURCH BALLINAMORE: Please check the copy of the plaque on display in the church porch for your details. If there are corrections required please contact Fr. Seán ASAP. If you wish to make a donation contact Fr. Seán, as the Plaque will be finalised very soon. 

TRÓCAIRE: this year we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the foundation of Trócaire. Trócaire means mercy. We show mercy when we show kindness, compassion and forgiveness.  For 50 years Trócaire has worked to support the world’s most at risk communities, no matter who or where they are. Please collect your Trócaire Box, help save lives, and support communities to rebuild their lives in a sustainable way.

CATHEDRAL OF ST PATRICK & ST FELIM, Cavan has undergone major restoration recently. Despite the completion of the cathedral renovation, there is still a financial cost to be paid. The fundraising campaign is now at crucial stage and Bishop Hayes has asked all the faithful in the Diocese to consider making a contribution. This weekend, March 11th and 12th, information packs are available at the back of church after Mass. I ask you take one and consider making a donation. 

AUGHNASHEELIN YELLOW RIVER PLAYERS: a production of 'Cupid Wore Skirts' by Sam Cree, in Aughnasheelin the 18th, 19th, 25th, & 26th March, curtain up at 8.30pm, and tickets on the door.  Welcome back to Aughnasheelin and we promise you a night full of laughter and a little bit of love too!

ST MARY'S NATIONAL SCHOOL 50 YEAR REUNION: thanks to those who have forwarded photographs, we are looking for photos from the year the school opened in 1973 until 1995. We would be grateful to parents, grandparents or friends who have Class photos, Sporting pictures, Communion, Confirmation photos or any memorabilia linked to the school which you think would be of interest for the book. We are also keen to hear recollections from past students on their time at St Mary’s NS, and we would love to talk to those who remember their first day in the new school. Please share your memories for future generations, let us know if you are interested in doing this and one of us will meet with you to listen to your memories before putting pen to paper for the book. Items can be left into the school or emailed aughnasheelin50years@gmail.com

CAREER IN CHILDCARE: This Childcare Programme is managed by Leitrim Development Company and will help long-term unemployed to get training and work experience in childcare. CAVAN INSTITUTE is hosting an Open Day on Thurs 23rd March from 9.30 am to 3.00 pm. This is an opportunity for prospective students/parents to visit the college and discuss the opportunities available upon completion of a PLC course - so, if you are interested in accessing progression routes for Higher Education, up-skilling, obtaining employment or taking a gap year, why not come along and see what Cavan Institute can offer?
