Senior Championship

We were in action on Saturday evening against Mohill in the first second round of the championship and unfortunately, we did not get the win we wanted. The lads put in a good performance with Niall McGovern the pick of the team. It was a closely fought contest with Ballinamore looking to peg back Mohill in the opening exchanges and it wasn’t till the 10th minute of the second half that we took the lead for the first time. The lads played well but a Keith Beirne effort which was fisted in by Ronan Kennedy just before the water break of the second half proved decisive with the lads unable to cut the lead. Final score Ballinamore 0.17 Mohill 1:17

Division One Championship

An Impressive performance by the second team on Sunday afternoon as we defeated Aughawillian in Ballinamore. The lads put in a great performance with Peter Reynolds in great form scoring 5 points in the opening 10 minutes. It was a good display of shooting with some excellent scores for those in attendance to enjoy. Stephen McTague impressed with some long-range shooting and Phillip Murphy grabbed a goal that no keeper would save. Final score Ballinamore 3:17 Aughawillan 0.04

Leitrim Ladies

A great win for the Leitrim minors in the Minor B Connacht Final against Roscommon. A big well done to all the players and the Ballinamore contingent of Niamh Donohoe, Mollie Murphy, Megan McGovern and Emma Honeyman a fantastic result for them and a mighty win, well done also to all the selectors and managers – Final Score Leitrim 1:10 to Roscommon 1:08

Hard luck to the Leitrim u16 girls who were beaten in the U16 Connaught C final at the weekend, we were well represented with Laura Maguire, Lizzie O'Connell and Ella Van Der Laan lining out for the county.

Cul Camp

After a fantastic week of fun, games, football, a water fight and a little rain our Cul Camp came to an end on Friday afternoon, hopefully the children had a great time as much as the coaches appeared to!

As with every event of this nature the success of it is built on the hard work by groups of individuals in the background, without this work especially in the Covid times we live in we would not have been able to proceed. So special thanks to Jenny McTague and Peter Reynolds, they have put in many many weeks of work to ensure that the camp could go ahead, this work is voluntary, and we really thank them for their time and effort in organising and running the camp this week.

There were many others that freely gave up their time to ensure the success of the camp as well and we would again like to thank the rest of the volunteers who helped us, Siobhan Dolan, Louise Brennan, Zoe Prior, Regina Creamer, Kathryn McTague, Leighanne Gallagher, Michelle Prior, Alma McKeon, Sean O’Sullivan, Diarmaid Keegan, Niall Gormley, Adrian Murphy, Raymond McHugh, and Rory O’Rourke.

We are also lucky this year to have a fantastic group of coaches from the club and the surrounding parishes. Having coaches that the children know and who they look up to was a great benefit and one we are sure the children enjoyed. So special thanks to all the coaches Peter Reynolds, Michael McKiernan, Seamus Wisley, Paul Moran, Senan Harte, Eoin Connaughton, Caillain Murphy, Daniel McLoughlin, Emmet Moran, Siobhan Flynn, Emma McGovern, Juliette Lockhart, Siomhna Quinn, Edel Shanley and Aoife Mannion, a fantastic group of young people!!

We would also like to thank Jackie McTague for sponsoring the ice cream on the last day of the camp. The players and coaches certainly enjoyed it.

A special thanks to Leitrim GAA, Thomas Keenan and the GDA’s for their help and support and finally thanks to all the young players and their parents for attending.

Hopefully we will be back next year again, fingers crossed a different week, so we are not clashing with the return of the festival!!!

U9 Blitz

Well done to the u9’s who had a great blitz away to Kiltubrid at the weekend. Special thanks to Kiltubrid for organising and thanks to all the coaches and players for making the trip
