10 August 2021

We were in action on Saturday evening against Fenagh in the first round of the championship and unfortunately, we did not get the win we wanted, Fenagh led the game from early on and we were unable to close the gap. At half time we were one point behind and added 4 scores in the second half while Fenagh added 6 points to win the game by 3 and a final score of 1:13 to 0:13. The lads will be disappointed and will have a great opportunity to put it behind them on Saturday when we take on Mohill at 1900 in Ballinamore, hopefully we can get a good crowd out to cheer the lads on.

Division One Reserve Final

After the disappointment of the opening round of the senior championship some of our players had the opportunity to put it behind them with a league final against Mohill, a team that had beaten us in the earlier league game. The lads put in a fine display from the start with Mark McCrory grabbing an excellent goal with only 2 mins gone, Barry McGovern and Michael McKiernan added some good points as well in the opening 6 mins to leave us in control with Barry adding a goal as well. At the water break we were well in control leading 2:04 to 0.04 and we added 3 more points before half time to go in leading 2.07 to 0.05. Mohill started the second half very well and put us under a good bit of pressure in the opening 15 mins, adding 3 scores in a short space of time. Our backs certainly put in a good performance and battled hard while Mohill continued to push forward and got down to a 2-point Gap before Eoin McHugh moved up the pitch and grabbed an excellent goal to relieve some of the pressure. All credit to Mohill they continued to battle away and put us under pressure, but we held on and were deserving winners with a final score of 3-11 to 1-14

Well done to all the players led by captain Andrew Burns and our management team led by Gavin Brennan on an excellent victory

Leitrim Ladies

Hard luck to the Leitrim ladies and our own club mates Roisin, Laura and Abbie they have put in some excellent performances over the course of the season and will be disappointed to have not progressed further after losing to Kildare by 4 points with a final score of Kildare 1-11 to 1-07.
