Senior Ladies Championship

There had been a great week of activity around the town in preparation for Sundays County Final, the first that a Ballinamore Senior Ladies team would partake in. The fans certainly rose to the occasion and it was a great to see all the flags, bunting and posters wishing the team well, the ladies certainly had the backing of everyone in the community and we must say a big thank you to all of our supporters and the many people and business that dug deep in these difficult times to sponsor the girls.

The ladies and management will be disappointed with the result on the day and losing a county final is a difficult pill to swallow, but all credit to Manor they won the match fairly and were deserved champions on the day.

We now must look forward and push on, Manor themselves have lost finals before Sundays triumph and hopefully with this young and exciting new team we can use the experience of this loss to push on to greater things next season.

The girls themselves have been excellent role models. They have been very keen from the start of this year to support our underage set up and we are very grateful for all they have done.

Overall as a club we would like to thank all the players, selectors and the management team, they have achieved so much this year and as a club we are very proud of them, they will hopefully be a catalyst for more young girls and players to start playing sport and to continue to do so to a Senior level in the future.

Condolences

Deepest Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of the late Deirdre Meehan (McGovern) , we would ask all our members to please keep Deirdre’s family and friends in your thoughts at this difficult time.

Junior A championship

Hard luck to our Junior A lads who lost their quarterfinal game against Glenfarne Kiltyclogher on Saturday, it was a tight game and the lads will be disappointed that they did not progress losing by 2 points. The final score was 0:08 to 0:10. Thanks to all the players and management for their commitment.

Junior B Championship

Well done to the Junior B lads who were in action against Kiltubrid on Sunday in a relegation playoff. It was a very exciting game with plenty of goals for the fans to enjoy. Well done to Brian Beirne who scored 4 goals in the 6.06 to 3.09 and led the line well !

U16 Girls Championship

U16s had a tough game against a strong Mohill side last Tuesday and were happy to come away with a draw at full time 1-18 (SOH) to 5-6 (Mohill). The girls dug their heels in and never gave up coming back from a deficit.  Next game against St Joseph's away on Tuesday as we go to press in a must win game, results will be on our Facebook page

MacDiarmada Gaels

Well done to our u15 lads who had an excellent win in their semi-final match against Leitrim Gaels on Friday. It was an excellent match with some great football, the lads won by a score of 3:17 to 0:08 and will now play St Mary’s in the final, details to follow

Underage Training and Nursery

Well done to all our u9 players who were in action against Leitrim Gaels in a Go Games match on Saturday morning. It was a great experience for the boys and girls, and they had a great morning. Special thanks to Leitrim Gaels for visiting and all the mentors and parents from both clubs for making it possible.

Special thanks also to Vincent and the u11 Kiltubrid boys who visited on Saturday, we had a great game and training session in preparedness for future outings as MacDiarmada Gaels

U11 training will continue this Monday night at 1830 if any boys or girls would like to join us.
