Tea and Coffee afternoon for Leitrim Branch of Multiple Sclerosis Saturday 21st July

Ruth Morrow (Newtowngore) is holding a Tea and Coffee afternoon on Saturday 21st July in her home at 19 Woodford Green, Newtowngore from 2pm to 6pm. Everyone very welcome so please come along and support this very worthy cause and sample some of Ruth’s and her friends delicious baking. 4th July - Give blood at Ballinamore Community Centre The Blood Transfusion mobile unit team will return again to the Community Centre in Ballinamore this Wednesday 4th July 2018. The times are from 3.00pm - 5.00pm and 7.00pm - 9.30pm. 1 in 4 people will need a blood transfusion at some point in their lives, however, only 3% of the population give blood. Every new donor, every new donation saves lives." ​Thanks to everyone who attended the last clinic. See you on Wednesday 4th July and please encourage someone to come with you.

Whist Drive – In Aid Of North West Hospice.Calling All Card Players!!

The monthly whist drive in Ballinamore Community centre takes place on Thursday 5th July at 9pm and all proceeds are going to the North West Hospice, we are calling on all card players to please come along and support this worthy cause. There will be a great selection of wonderful prizes, including Hampers, voucher’s and much more,  and tea and refreshments at half time. So why not come along, bring a friend and enjoy a good night while supporting the North West Hospice. All Welcome.

LOCAL LINK – Additional daily return

Local Link have added an additional daily return service between Carrick on Shannon and Ballinamore. The additional departure leaves Carrick on Shannon at 12:45 and departs Ballinamore at 14:00 Monday to Saturday.

The Ballinamore Community Garden is up and running and meets every Thursday at the old Vocational School (now Education Centre).Come along and enjoy the nature and nice company. For information contact Kay Maguire.

Please note road closures during the Connacht Fleadh will impact on mass goers on Sunday 8th July.  Main Street and St. Brigid's Street will be completely blocked off with no access. Consider parking on the New Line Road or Canal Road and walking from there. Apologies from the Fleadh committee for any inconvenience caused.

Belfast To Knock Walk. July 19th

Over the years the parish has always opened their hearts and homes to the walkers and have been most generous and supportive in providing beds for those walking the pilgrimage..  If you can provide a bed for even one of the walkers Please come along to the Mass and we will put you in contact with walker in need of a bed for the night. We have a great tradition here in the Friendly Town of providing a bed for all the walkers who have walked from Clones to Ballinamore on this Thursday 19th. If you have accommodated walkers in the past and can do so again Please contact Thomas Kelly 071 9644800 / 087 9610911 with your details and how many you can take, Thanks. Blossom Harp Ensemble 

St.Patrick’s Catholic Church, Ballinamore Thursday 5th July at 7.00 pm. Free event as part of the upcoming Connacht Fleadh (3rd-8th July). This 16 piece harp ensemble will perform in a beautiful church setting using natural acoustics.

New 500 Bedroom Hotel for Ballinamore Lord Mayor Candidate Gerry Farry has told us that he has been in touch with Donald Trump Jnr through his Russian agents to arrange the building of a new 500 bedroom hotel in Ballinamore. Gerry stated that the new hotel will be a huge benefit to Ballinamore in the light of all the other developments he has planned for the surrounding area. The new 20 story structure will incorporated into existing buildings at the junction of High Street and St Bridget Street. The Hotel will have all the usual amenities and include a greyhound track around the perimeter. BIG G said that leading trainers like John Ryan and Timmy Winters will make immense savings on Friday evening by having their moneymaking activities near home. ‘The brilliance of the thing is that marriage-intending couples can have all activities in-house, marriage on the ground floor, craic in the middle and fireworks on the roof. The 500 bedrooms will be furnished to cater for every taste. Gerry added that Mr Trump wants to future-proof the development by installing a rocket launch pad on the roof. ‘Space travel will be commonplace in the not-too-distance future’, he added. ‘We are expecting many guests requesting us to ‘Fly Me to the Moon’. Folks over the years the great and illustrious Tommy Moran has hosted some very exciting and memorable “This is your Life” nights and on Thursday the 12th of July Tommy will be back in action with the big red book surprising a local star of the town who shall remain secret till the event. This event promises to be a great night of entertainment and one not to be missed. The event is part of the Gerry Farry lord Mayor campaign for Ballinamore Festival with all proceeds going towards this years family festival. Tickets are 10euro and can be purchased on the night
