Gerry Farry for Lord Mayor

Extra Bank Holidays for Ballinamore

Lord Mayor Candidate Gerry Farry has said that if he is chosen as Mayor of Ballinamore that he will bring into law a Bill that was proposed in the Dail in 1864 but never enacted. The Bill states that every Bank Holiday Monday will be followed by a Tuesday Holiday to be known as the Credit Union or CU Holiday. Gerry or “BIG G” as he is affectionately known has said that from his experience the people of Ballinamore found it very stressful to be ready for work on Tuesday’s following Bank Holidays. By making the Tuesdays a CU Holiday he hoped everybody would be refreshed and more ready for work on a Wednesday: “We are hoping that this does not lead to any confusion BIG G said, we hope that people won’t take the CU holiday literally, otherwise employers might not CU till the following week”. The law can only be brought into effect by ensuring that Gerry is chosen as Lord Mayor of Ballinamore.
