Gerry for Mayor

Good luck to Gerry Farry in his endeavours to become Lord Mayor of this year’s August Festival. Using this very popular motto ‘Make Ballinamore Great Again’! We still await his official mandate, one of his projects is to try and get one Litter bin returned to the streets of Ballinamore! Let’s see what Jackie McTague has up her sleeve?

Sliabh Hotel, Main Street, Ballinamore

A big effort to renovate the front of this old hotel has been made recently, well done to everyone involved.

Welcome the Sun

We have been blessed with lovely weather recently, and to see silage made so early after such terrible rain for the past 8 months is uplifting, and it seems that Cowboys and Hero have a good chance of fine weather.  Everyone looks so much happier, sunshine is a tonic!

Darkness into Light

Ballinamore Community School would like to sincerely thank all those who made this the outstanding success it was. In order to carry out such a big venture, we knew that we would need the help of the local community and as always that support came in many numbers. To all those who helped on  the night , either with the tea inside or out on the road stewarding we extend a big thanks.

Of course the night would not have being such a success if we did not have a huge number to walk. Over 800 people registered, and whilst it’s very hard to put a number on it, we feel the majority of those who registered also walked.

The final amount raised in the Ballinamore was a massive €17,071.94

Once again a massive “Thank You” to you  all the  for your dedication to Darkness into Light and for shining the light of Hope to the people of Ballinamore and surrounding areas

If you only bring one thing away from taking part in this global event , remember the reason we are doing this is to let people know there is always:

Light in Darkness and Hope in Despair.
