Darts

The result from the postponed game between McGirl’s and Jackie’s played last Friday night McGirl’s (9) Jackie’s (0). The total points for all teams: Poor Scholar (56) pts McGirl’s (48) pts Bank Bar (41) pts Freddie’s (38) pts Jackie’s (34) pts Drumcoura (26) pts. With all games played it’s down to the semi-finals. First plays fourth, Poor Scholar V Freddie’s that game will be played in McGirl’s and second plays third, McGirl’s plays Bank Bar, which will be played in Jackie’s. Both semi-finals to be played next Friday night the 25th of May, with the final the following week the 1st of June.

 

Dawn’s Art Club

Happy Hearts Collection

Many thanks to all who supported the Irish Heart Foundation's National collection on Friday 11th May. We are grateful also to the volunteers who gave of their time on the day and to SuperValu and Tesco who accommodated us. We collected €1,346.80.

 

Oughteragh and the two Drumreilly’s

As part of Bealtaine Festival, staff in Ballinamore Library are hosting a very interesting talk by Monsignor Liam Kelly on Tuesday 29th May at 8pm titled ‘The Parish of Oughteragh and the two Drumreilly’s: 1400 to 1800’. Free admission and all are welcome.

Come along and chat about your fond river memories, share with us your love of rivers and help develop a vision for their future.

Planning for a Colorful Summer in your Garden

An illustrated talk given by Gail from the “Four Seasons Garden Centre” will take place in Ballinamore Library on Thursday 31st May at 5pm. Come along get ideas for summer planting which will add colour to your garden. Gail will also be happy to answer any of your gardening queries. Admission free. All welcome.

Padre Pio Healing Mass: You are warmly invited by our Parish Pastoral Council and community to join with us for our annual Padre Pio Healing Mass in Saint Patrick's Church, Ballinamore, on Friday 25th May at 7.00pm. The Celebrant will be Fr. Sean Kelly, OFM  Capuchin Priest from Kilkenny and a native of Ballinamore. There will be Capuchin Friars present with Relics of St. Pio for individual blessings after the Mass. Many healings have been attributed to the intercession of Saint Pio and large crowds always attend the healing Masses dedicated to his life. Everyone Welcome.  

Fr Johnny will shortly be celebrating a very significant birthday: to mark this occasion there will be mass in Aughnasheelin Church on Friday June 8th at 8pm and this will be followed by a celebration in the Local Community Hall. All welcome. 

 

Work on The Parochial House, Convent Road 

A planning application for permission to carry out alterations to the Parochial House, Convent Rd, has been submitted to Leitrim County Council. Any local contractor interested in tendering for this project is asked to contact Fr Seán for a copy of the site layout plans, site location map & drawings within the next week.

The Backpack Summer Camp for Teenagers!

The Backpack is hosting a residential summer camp in The Emmaus Centre, Dublin for teenagers from Kilmore Diocese from June 10th - June 16th. Participants will learn essential skills for life such as stress and anxiety management, confidence and leadership skills, boundaries in relationships, and contemplative prayer, in a fun and open environment. MAD 2018!  Music and Dance Summer Camp

Wear a Sunflower for North West Hospice:

Sunflower Days in aid of North West Hospice take place from 8th-9th June. Sunflowers and pins will be available to buy from North West Hospice volunteers all over the North West and your support would be greatly appreciated. The sunflowers have been grown and generously donated by Loughan House in Blacklion to support North West Hospice.

Would you like to be part of the choir for the Papal Mass in the Phoenix Park on Sunday 26 August 2018? 

The Diocese of Kilmore has been allocated 74 places in the choir that will lead the congregational singing during the Mass with Pope Francis in August. 23 sopranos, 23 altos, 14 tenors and 14 bass from across the diocese are required. All prospective choir members must be aged 18 years+ and will be subject to Garda Vetting as part of the registration process. There is nothing to stop choirs travelling to the Phoenix Park as part of a parish pilgrimage and singing from their assigned places in the designated sections. As many of the 74 choir members as possible will also be asked to join the choir for the 4:30 p.m. Mass in Dublin’s RDS on Thursday 23 August during the World Meeting of Families Pastoral Congress which coincides with the Kilmore Diocesan Day at the Pastoral Congress. The closing date for receipt of applications is 12 noon on Friday 18 May 2018. Festival Competition function to elect the new Ballinamore Lord Mayor - GERRY FARRY

A fundraiser launch for Ballinamore Festival's Mayor will take place in Prior’s lounge this coming Saturday with music, spot prizes and lots of fun on behalf of Gerry Farry’s campaign. The one who raises most funds will be elected Lord Mayor.
