Darkness into Light 

On May 12th Ballinamore Community School will host their first Darkness into Light 5k Walk, in aid of Pieta House 

This event will begin at 4.15am, in darkness, as people walk the 5km route around Ballinamore and finish as the dawn is breaking.To participate in the event.  Go online to www.darknessintolight.ie. For the venue make sure to click on “Ballinamore Community School 

Pilgrimage: The Kilmore Diocesan Pilgrimage

To Lourdes will take place from 27th May to 1st June – 5 nights’ full board and accommodation. Ballinamore Women’s Group

Trip to the dogs in Mullingar organized by Ballinamore women’s group takes place on Saturday 21st April. Bus leaves the square Ballinamore at 5 15pm All travelling are asked to be punctual.

World Curlew Day

In connection with World Curlew Day, Annie Birtwistle, Curlew Action Team contracted to the NPWS for Curlew Conservation Programme will give a talk on the curlew, which was once one of Ireland’s most iconic and best known bird species but now fears extinction. All are welcome to come along to Mohill Library on Friday, 20 April 2018, at 6.30pm, and learn more about this bird and how it can be protected. Aughnasheelin Mass Change: There will be no Saturday evening mass in Aughnasheelin on Sat 28th April. Instead there will be mass on the Sunday 29th at 11am for First Holy Communion.

World Meeting of Families: Pope Francis has confirmed that he will attend the 9th World Meeting of Families which will take place from 21st to 26th August 2018 in Dublin on the theme., ‘The Gospel of the Family: Joy for the World’. The following registrations/ tickets are available: individual Adult Registration, Clergy Registration, Family Group Registration (any number of adults/ any number of children), Group Registration for Parish/ Diocesan Organisation. Ballinamore Writers Group meets each Monday at 10am in the library.  New members always welcome.

Mohill Computer Training – Upcoming  Course:

Navigating Modern Living – Starting Wednesday 18th April @7pm

Hotel & Catering Course:

Fundraiser Fenagh Drama Troupewill perform The Maiden Aunt, one more time.  This is a hilarious 3 Act Comedy written by Jimmy Keary.  The show is in Fenagh Community Centre on Saturday 21st April at 8:30pm, Doors open at 7:30pm.  Admission is €10.  Please note that all funds collected will go to the Irish Guide Dogs and Fenagh Defibrillator.

Some raised bed allotments are now available for annual rent at the CAMCAS Centre in Ballyconnell. €80 per year, May to April. Also we are running a continuous Level 4 Horticultural course on Mondays and Fridays, 9.30am to 4pm. Join at any time. New Referees.
Good news for the club is that two club members have completed course for new referees. Darren Reynolds and Brian Beirne will be taking up the whistle at matches shortly. It is some time since anyone from the club has taken up refereeing.

Sensory Room Open Morning 

As part of Autism Awareness Month, staff in Mohill Library will host an Open Morning for its Sensory Room for parents/guardians/carers on Wednesday, 25 April 2018, from 10.30am to 12.30pm. The morning will begin with introductions and refreshments at 10.30am.  Our guest speaker, Carla Flynn (Senior Occupational Therapist) will deliver a presentation on sensory issues and how these affect a child, show the benefits of the sensory room and finally from 12.00pm to 12.30pm the Sensory Room will be open for viewing.
