After four rounds of the Francis McGirl’s Memorial Cup Competition sponsored by The Aughnasheelin Gun Club.  The Poor Scholar led the way on (29) pts – Jackie’s and Quinn’s share second place on (24) pts – Bank Bar are in third place on (22) pts – McGirl’s are next on (20) pts – Freddie’s have (15) pts – and Drumcoura are in sixth place on (10) pts.


5K Family Fun/Walk 

Mohill & District Athletics Club and are holding a 5k Family Fun Run/walk in Mohill on Sunday 5th November at 12noon in aid of the Carmel Cunningham Fund. Registration will take place from 11am in St. Manchans NS and the run.    Spot Prizes and refreshments afterwards in St. Manchans NS. Please support this great family fun event.  Admission optional. All proceeds go the the Carmel Cunningham Fund.

CLOTHES COLLECTION: St Mary's NS are having a clothes collection on Wednesday the 8 November from the community centre. You can drop off your bags Wednesday between 9.30 and 11am. If you cannot drop off bags please contact Sheila on 0876527815 or Delma in the school on 0719644868 and we would be happy to take them off you. Please ensure all items are in a closed bag. The following can be included: Clothes (clean, dry and reusable), Paired shoes, Trainers (tied), Handbags, Belts
Month of the Holy Souls: In November we remember and pray for the faithful departed in a special way. In our churches a number of masses will be offered for the deceased members of our families. It would be appreciated if you would bring in the list of those you wish to be prayed for with donation for next week end (envelope in your offertory Box).  These envelopes may be put into the weekly Offertory Baskets or left in special box close to altar before each mass.   


Recent Deaths:

We pray for the souls of Fr PJ Cumiskey (brother of the late John Cumiskey) whose funeral will take place  in New Zealand on Thursday the 9th Nov. We also pray for the soul of Elizabeth (Betty) Murtagh (Tráthnona) whose funeral took place on Friday. Our sympathy to their families.  



We welcome Lucy Helena Nolan,  Marc James Gavin and Emma Kate McCartin into our church community as they received the sacrament of Baptism last weekend.  


“The Diocese of Kilmore”

Congratulations to Monsignor Liam Kelly on the production of the book “The Diocese of Kilmore c. 1100 -1800” . Copies of this book will be available soon at the price of €35.  


Community Care Meeting:

A meeting of the community care committee will be held in Trathnona Community Centre on Monday night next, November 6th at 9pm.  All members are asked to attend please as we hope to finalise arrangements for the Senior Citizens Christmas party.

Ballinamore Farmers Market

is held every Friday from 11am to 3pm at the Old Courthouse, opposite St. Patrick's Church. Come along and visit the stalls of local producers, selling fresh vegetables, free range eggs, sourdough bread, goat's cheese, fruits, plants, cakes, jams and books ...and more to come!  For stall enquiries call Jonathan on 085 175 4957 


Church of Ireland

Church of Ireland Church Street, Ballinamore, Sunday Service is at 12.15pm every Sunday except on the 4th Sunday which is held in Drumreilly Church, Drumreilly


Drama Workshops in Ballinamore Library 

Drama workshops will be held on Saturday, 18 & 25 November for 6-8 year olds from 10.15am – 11.15am; 9-11 year olds from 11.30am to 1.00pm. Spaces are limited so booking is essential at 071 9645566. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Funded by the Creative Ireland Programme. 


Athletic Club:   

Training resumes on Tuesday evening next after the mid term break and will continue in the Sports Hall on Tuesday and Thursday and Thursday at 7.00 p.m. until the Christmas break. New members are welcome to join any evening. Some of our members are competing in the Connacht Uneven Ages Cross Country Championships at Moyne Community School this Sunday. 


Ballinamore Outreach Service 

Offers advice and support around various things including housing, social welfare, education/training. activities for children, support groups ,parenting supports, personal devolpment and Parent and Toddler Group.  It is based in Ballinamore Library Wednesdays 12noon-1pm.  For more information call Laura on 086 6035977 


Kilmore Diocesan Pioneer Association (PTAA).  

Annual social evening is on Sunday 19th Nov. Mass at 3.30 in Belturbet Chapel followed by Dinner in The Seven Horseshoes. Music by Seamus Farrell. Tickets €25. Tickets available from Rosaleen 0872450692 Hugh 0834841714 or local pioneer centres.  


Drumeela Garden Club:

Next meeting is on Wednesday 8th November at  8:30pm in Teach Duchais. Our speaker is Ray Brady from Breffni Landscapes, Arva.  He will talk  about designing gardens with low maintenance. Usual Refreshments and raffle on the night. €15 for annual membership or €3 for visitors. 


Volunteer Befriending Project 

Leitrim Development Company run a volunteer befriending project, which matches volunteers with older people who are feeling lonely or isolated, to visit once a week for about an hour for a friendly chat and some company. We are currently looking for new volunteers in the Ballinamore/ Aughnasheelin area, so if you enjoy having a chat and have a little free time, please contact Anna McTiernan on 071 9641770 or annamctiernan@ldco.ie

Persons wishing to rent the Sports Complex or The Den (next Door) should call Damien on 087 252 9144 The rents are for The Complex, single use €30 per hour, for block use (6 or more weeks) €25 per hour.The Den €20 per/hour.  The Den may also be booked for small or large meetings.

Christmas Lights


Hi all.... Im back to annoy the heads of ya.... so we are starting Christmas Lights soon and I hope as usual you can help me with the advertising..xxx

So Halloween is over and next up is Christmas OOOh too early?.... But the work on Christmas Lights believe it or not has begun and goes on most of the year. As usual we are looking for all help male or female and as I wont be able to give the same energy out and about I will be able to give orders Ha Ha Ha.....so if you are free please contact Dawn. We are hoping to begin this work on Sunday 12th of November... The Big man himself will switch the lights on Saturday 2nd December.
