WHIST Drive

Calling All Card Players !!  The monthly whist drive in Ballinamore Community centre takes place on Thursday 7th September at 9pm we are calling on all card players to please come along and support. There will be a great selection of wonderful prizes   and tea and refreshments at half time. So why not come along, bring a friend and enjoy a good night. All Welcome,


Education Training and Enterprise Support Worker

Leitrim Development Company have organised a QQI level 5 Management Committee Skills training course which will be delivered over six mornings in September and October of this year. They  are currently promoting the course and recruiting participants for it. Recent deaths
Seamus Carway (husband of Olive McTauge Corraleehan) whose funeral took place in Maugherow, Sligo on Monday.  Thomas joseph murphy, drumderrig, Corraleehan whose funeral took place on Sunday in Corraleehan also Philis Power Limerick, sister of late Marie Wisely, kiltymooden who died last Monday.  Our sympathy to their families.
Apostolic Society  -  Annual display takes place in Pastoral Centre Cavan on Sunday October 22nd at 3pm - AGM of Society takes place Sunday November 26th with Mass at 2 30 for deceased members and benefactors.  Honorary Subscription now due can be give to Maura Mulvey, thank you all for your subscriptions last year - this money goes to help our missionaries with their work.

Aughnasheelin Community Defibrillator Fundraising Draw

Will take place on Sunday 3rd September in Ossie’s Bar at 9pm all welcome.

Would like to thank everyone who helped organise the recent fundraising event for our little boy Tyler. We would like to thank the members of the Ballinamore festival committee, Mona Creamer and especially Ronan O Rourke and family from ROR Fitness for the amazing work they did for the spinathon! To everyone that took part on the bikes and the amazing generosity of the people of Ballinamore and surrounding areas, we have so much support from so many people the last 6 months and we will be forever grateful to ye all. Tyler is our perfect little boy who has had a tough time since he was born and has been through so much but we wouldn't change him for the world. Thanks again to everyone for all their love and support

 

 

North West Hospice Coffee Morning:

On 16th September a coffee morning in aid of North West Hospice will be hosted by Helena and John D’Arcy at their home in Fohera Lane, Ballinamore. This is a great cause and everyone is welcome to attend for a cup of coffee and a chat between 11.30 and 2.00 pm- . Last year with your support we raised Euro 1300 for the North West hospice and we are hoping that we can do the same this year. We very much look forward to seeing you on the 16th  and thank you in advance for your support. 

 

 

Ballinamore Outreach Service

offers advice and support around various things including housing, social welfare, education/training. activities for children, support groups,parenting supports, personal devolpment and Parent and Toddler Group.  It is based in Ballinamore Library Wednesdays 12noon-1pm.  For more information call Laura on 086 6035977

 

 

A meeting of Ballinamore Women’s Group

takes place on Wednesday 6th September at 8pm. Balance of money due for trip to Galway must be paid on or before this meeting. All members are asked to attend.

 

 

The next public lecture/meeting of the Leitrim Astronomy Club 

Is Tues, Sept 12 @6:45pm in Ballinamore Library, Co. Leitrim. We will have a Talk about the 'Cassini Mission to Saturn' as the 20 year mission ends on that Friday when the unmanned spacecraft heads down into Saturn. After the talk there will be an hour-long film on one particular aspect of the mission. Tea/coffee and bickies. All Welcome."

 

Seminar in the Scouts Den - Ballinamore

There will be a seminar held in the Scouts Den - Ballinamore, on the 19th of September from 10am - 2pm. This event will give results of energy surveys carried out in your area as well as give advice on how to save on energy bills while maintaining a higher quality of life. There will be discussions on how your community can benefit from new energy saving schemes. There will be refreshments provided. All welcome.  .

This programme will enable candidates to participate actively and effectively on community based voluntary management committees and develop their knowledge, confidence and skills to support their contribution as members of voluntary management committees   

Those who complete the full assessment will be awarded Module 5N1297 QQI Level 5 Management Committee Skills Award 

There will be an information and induction session for the course in the offices of Leitrim Development Company in Drumshanbo at 11am on Tuesday the 5th of September 2017

Arty shenanigans with Kathryn. Teenagers and adults welcome. Maximum 3 people per class, for a calm experience and individual attention.

After the first class, the next 3 sessions must be booked and paid for in advance. I do not work on stand-by (i.e. there is not a drop-in / weekly payment option).

Drumshanbo: Tuesday 4:30-6:00 Wednesday 4:30-6:00 Saturday at various times.

Knitting Group

Knitting Group will resume on Tuesday, 5 September 2017, at 11.00am in Ballinamore Library. Come along and join the group with your knitting needles or crochet hooks! All are welcome.

 

Draughts Club

Draughts Club continue on Tuesday evenings, in Ballinamore Library, from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Bring along your own board if you have one. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
