Congratulations:

Congratulations to Mary Smyth & Damien Maxwell on their marriage which took place 24th June. .

Visitation of the Sick and Housebound:

will take place this week: Aughawillan, Corraleehan and Aughnasheelin on Thursday morning and Ballinamore Country Area on Thursday afternoon/evening. Ballinamore Town area will take place Friday morning.

Word of Warning:

As many of you may know a number of cars were broken into and valuables stolen while people were attending mass in Aughawillan Church last Sunday morning. Our commiseration to those who lost valuables. Sadly this has happened to many churches while people are attending mass. As a word of warning, please make sure cars are locked and do not leave any valuables in view.

A Word of Explanation on shared intentions for Mass

It would be impossible to cater for all anniversaries masses on an individual basis, so therefore it is necessary to have shared intentions. All people living & dead are prayed for in each mass. When we have an intention or a number of intentions we are remembering and praying for those especially during that mass. As a priest is allowed only to take one stipend per day per mass, that means that whenever there are a number of intentions for a mass he can only take one stipend or donation, the rest is sent to Religious  or Missionary Orders who celebrate additional masses.

As we approach the half way stage of the year,

it would be much appreciated if dues  and offertory and other contributions were brought up to date.  The weekly offertory contributions go towards the upkeep of the Churches and the monthly dues contributions provide the salaries for the priests of the parish.  Thanking for your generosity. If you are paying by cheque would you be kind enough to use a separate cheque for offertory and dues contributions as they have different account numbers. Please make cheques for Offertory payable to the appropriate  Church account Ballinamore / Aughnasheelin / Aughawillan or Corraleehan  Church a/c.  Please make Dues cheques payable to Priests Revenue a/c.  Thankyou

This time we are taking the bull by the horns to grapple with Einstein's famous 'Theory Of Relativity.' Amateur astronomer and astrophysics devotee, Galway Astronomy Club chairman, Brian MacGabhann, will give the talk and the whole idea is to break down 'Relativity' into understandable forms. 'Relativity' gave us new insight into the workings of the world around us and this lecture is not to be missed. People will have plenty of questions on the night and 'All are Welcome.'

Belfast to Knock Peace Walkers

We are now just a few weeks away from having our friends from Belfast pass through our town as they walk to Knock over five days on their Peace Pilgrimage. This is the twenty first anniversary of the walk and over those years the parish has always opened their hearts and homes to the walkers and have been most generous and supportive in providing beds for those walking the pilgrimage. Hopefully this year will be no exception and if you can give a bed for even one walker it will be much appreciated. “I was a stranger and you invited me in “truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’.  If you can provide a bed for even one of the walkers. Please come along to the Mass and we will put you in contact with walker in need of a bed for the night. If you have accommodated walkers in the past and can do so again Please contact Thomas Kelly 071 9644800 / 087 9610911 with your details and how many you can take, Thanks. The mass will be on Thursday 20th July at 7:30pm. All parishioners are welcome to come and experience the Mass, the music and the liturgy that the Cursillio members bring to their celebrations.
