Ballinamore Outreach Service

offers advice and support around various things including housing, social welfare, education/training. Activities for children, support groups, parenting supports, personal development and Parent and Toddler Group. It is based in Ballinamore Library Wednesday’s 12noon-1pm. Hospitality Course  

This is a full-time course in Hospitality Operations which will commence in July 2017.  The course will take place in the Hospitality Training Kitchen at the Food Hub, Drumshanbo.  The course will run for 42 weeks and participants will gain a Major Award at QQI Level 5 upon successful completion.  The course is funded by MSLETB and the Dept. of Social Protection and managed by Leitrim Development Company.  The course is for individuals who are considering embarking on a career in the hospitality industry and wish to obtain a recognised qualification.  For more information please contact Leitrim Development Company on 071 9641770 or e-mail:  info@ldco.ie 

Grow or wear a Sunflower for Hospice 

Sunflower Days in aid of North West Hospice take place from 8th -10th June. Sunflowers and pins will be available to buy from North West Hospice volunteers all over the north-west and your support would be greatly appreciated. Walk from Bunclody Co. Wexford to Bangor Co. Down. Simon Derache will be walking this route over the month of June & will be coming to Ballinamore Wed June 13th until June 14th. Welcome him into your town and maybe walk a mile with him!

Athletic Club 

Ten club members qualified from the Leitrim Team Championships for the Connacht Finals in Sligo next Saturday. Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday at 7.00 p.m. for the next two weeks.

Is hosting the Lanterns of Hope festival in Stephen Street Carpark Sligo at 6pm on the 16th of June. This is a free family event with eco-friendly lanterns being released at the end of the night. Irish Church Music Association

It is Church Music Summer School time again.  The Summer School 2017 begins on Wednesday, 5 July and ends on Saturday, 8 July.  The guest director this year is Órla Barry, Ballinteer, Co. Dublin.  She conducted Summer School 2011 when Sing the Mass was launched.  She is accompanied by our Irish composers: Bernard Sexton, Ephrem Feeley and Liam Lawton.  The theme for the Summer School is: Joy For The World, preparing for the World Meeting of Families 2018

Summer Camp 2017: Tanagh

Outdoor Education & Training Centre would like to invite anyone between the ages of 9-16 years to participate in Outdoor Adventure Summer Camp. Please note: The online booking facility will close at noon on the Wednesday preceding the week of the camps. This year and going forward, Registrations will NOT be accepted on the first morning of camp. Registration can be completed using the online facility above COST: €60 for 1st child. €50 for 2nd child. €40 for 3rd and subsequent children.
