Darts

The final of the Ballinamore League Cup Competition brought darts to an end for the 2016 / 2017 season.  It also brought an end to McGirl’s winning streak in all competitions for a long time.  Their opponents in the final The Poor Scholar played some great darts to beat them in a thrilling final on a score line of (5) games to (4). 
Congratulations to the Poor Scholar well done!!  Winning team Pauric Gallagher, Wayne Roberts, Ciaran Hearty, Charlie McDonnell, Michael Hearty, Ian Flynn, Evan Gallagher, Ryan Gavin, David McCabe, John Christy, Nathan Gallaher, James Boyle, John Curry.  Runners Up team Michael McGirl,  Greg McGovern, Gerry Mahon, Barney McAdam, Damien McGovern, Eamon Benison, Jimmy Walsh, Ben McGirl, Andy Ralph, Shane O’Neill, Tony McHugh, Joe McGirl, Eugene McGuire.  Thanks to Michael Crosbie and Olive McIntyre for chalking the final, thanks to Catherine for refreshments.  Before the final started there was a minute silence for the late John Turbit R.I.P.

Ballinamore Heartsafe

We wish to thank sincerely those who contributed to the recent Happy Heart collection on Fri 12th May for the IHF (Irish Heart Foundation). We were delighted to collect €1 327.20 on their behalf. Special thanks to the 27 volunteers who gave the time to collect (most of whom also volunteer for other collections).

There are dates coming up in May, June and July for CPR and defib training. If you are due your 2 year refresher expect a text soon. Anyone who is interested in doing the training for first time please ring Marcella 0876962928 or Anne 0879941193

 The relics of St. Oliver Plunkett will visit the Chapel of the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Cullies, Cavan Town, on Tuesday 6 June 2017.  

The relics will arrive at the Centre at 10:00a.m. and leave at 10:00p.m. that evening. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available from 12 noon to 1:00p.m.; 4:30p.m. to 5:30p.m.; and 6:30p.m. to 7:45p.m.   There will be a lunch-time Mass in the Chapel at 1:15p.m. offered by Fr. Kevin Fay, Chaplain to St. Patrick’s College and Loreto College in Cavan, for those doing examinations around this time.   There will also be an early-evening Mass in the Chapel at 5:45p.m. when the celebrant and homilist will be Fr. Ultan McGoohan, Diocesan Director of Pastoral Services and CC, Teemore, Co. Fermanagh. Bishop Leo O'Reilly will be the principal celebrant and homilist at the 8:00p.m. Mass. The choir of St. Mary's Church, Carrigallen, Co. Leitrim will provide Sacred Music for this Mass.  Petitions/Offerings may be sent to the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Cullies, Cavan. All petitions received will be placed beside the relic during its visit. These and the intentions of all pilgrims will be remembered during the three Masses offered during the day.  Please make envelope “Petitions” in the top left hand corner.  All are welcome for this very special event. First Holy Communion Congratulations to the children of Corraleehan  who are receiving First Holy Communion in Corlough on Saturday.  

Recent Deaths:  We pray for the souls of John Harkin (Dublin & formerly Ballinamore) whose funeral took place on Wednesday and Kenneth Breed, Rhode Island (husband of Mary Anne Murphy formerly of Drumderg) who died at the weekend.  Our sympathy to their families.

Padre Pio Healing Mass

You are warmly invited by Ballinamore Parish Pastoral Council and community to join with us for a Padre Pio Healing Mass in Saint Patrick's Church, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim on this coming Thursday 25th May at 7.00pm. The Celebrant will be Fr. Sean Kelly,OFM  Capuchin Priest from Kilkenny and a native of Ballinamore.  

There will be five Capuchin Friars present with Relics of St. Pio for individual blessings after the Mass and confessions will be available throughout the evening. Many healings have been attributed to the intercession of Saint Pio and large crowds always attend the healing Masses dedicated to his life. Everyone Welcome.

FRS Training Ltd are running a FETAC/QQI LEVEL 5

3 Day Occupational First Aid Training in The Bush Hotel, Carrick On Shannon on Wednesday 7th  – Friday 9th  June. The aim of this course is to teach the participant how to be able to deal with different types of accidents and injuries in the workplace should they occur, and be able to administer proper First Aid to the casualty. This course complies with the new guidelines on First Aid which include AED & the administration of aspirin as laid down by the Health and Safety Authority. Volunteers needed for Barnardos National Collection Day, Kindly supported by Dell 

Barnardos is seeking parishioners to support them with 1-2 hours of their time to help collect funds on Barnardos National Collection Day, kindly supported by Dell, on Friday 15th September 2017.  We need volunteers to help with organised bag-packs or on-street collections in their local community. All money raised on the day will help change the lives of vulnerable children and their families in communities around Ireland.
