Darts

The finals of the Drino Cup singles competition were played last Friday night in the Poor Scholar. Twenty players turned up to play in the competition. The second semi-final, Ian Flynn played Michael Hearty, Michael winning that one again by (4) legs to (1). The final was the best of (9) legs and after a very exciting match between Greg McGovern, and Michael Hearty, Greg won on a score of (5) legs to (2). Well done to all who took part. Béal an ÁthaMóir Seán Ó hEislin

Last week Storm Doris blew into town and unfortunately like many others the club did not escape unscathed. The main wall at the front of the pitch and entrance was brought down by the gale force winds. Like everyone else we are thankful that the damage though not inconsiderable did not lead to any injuries to our members or the general public and will be able to be rebuilt in due course. We must say thanks to those that secured the area during the storm and those that gave up their time on Sunday to come down and aid in the removal of the rubble – many thanks!
