image of the merciful Saviour be blessed and venerated and that Sr.Faustina  have

the infinite ocean of God’s mercy.

A Word of Thanks: A sincere word of thanks to all who assisted in any way in our
churches in the lead up to and during Holy Week and Easter Ceremonies. Our
thanks to the sacristans, the organist, singers, readers and to all who participated in
our online ceremonies. A special thank you to all who decorated the churches so
beautifully and so appropriately for each ceremony.
Collection of Trocaire , Offertory and Dues Envelopes:
While we are well aware that these are difficult and challenging times and a strain on
financial resources for many families.  Some parishioners have expressed a wish to
continue to make their normal contributions and wonder how this might be done . A
few suggestions were made to me during the week,

The most practical one I think  is that if the collectors in each church area would
arrange to be in their church between 8 to 8:30pm of a Saturday evening and
parishioners come along then to the church and hand in their contributions. This
arrangement could also take place in Ballinamore Church again after the 11am mass
on  a Sunday. Thanks to the parishioners who have  already   left  in their
contributions especially the Trócaire envelope to the parochial House Convent Road.

Collectors for April 26 th
Ballinamore : April 26 th & May 3 rd : Seamus McTague, Michael Gillen, PJ Duignan,
Eugene Maxwell
Aughnasheelin : Seamus McWeeney, Paddy Beirne, Philip McTeigue
Corraleehan: Frank McCabe & Peter Prior
Aughawillan: Frank Kelly & Ciaran McBrien

2km picture challenge Leitrim Observer editor@leitrimobserver.ie

We are asking people, when out and about exercising (always adhering to the gov
guidelines) or even relaxing in their back garden, that they send us a photo of the scene.
It could be a wonderful landscape, a mountain, a lake, a person, your family.... anything
at all really, that captures the day and the experience.
We are planning to showcase the beauty of our county in a wonderful photo spread and
in our online galleries.

People are very proud of where they live and rightly so and we want to highlight this.
It will also be a record of our activities during this pandemic and a reminder that despite
all that is happening we still live in a wonderful county with Mother Nature showing off
her best. Why not get your phone, camera and take a cheerful or interesting photo or
just some image to cheer us all up! send them to the observer email address including
your name/s and townland editor@leitrimobserver.ie I have a beautiful one of a sunset
from 2 weeks ago.

St.Patrick’s Church  Aughawillan

is looking splendid after its recent internal painting and  restoration.

Well done to the Church Committee and thanks for all the positive
comments. While it awaits external painting and a few items to complete its
restoration please feel free to visit    the  church  BUT OBSERVE THE COVID 19
restrictions.
The restoration of the Stations of the Cross has attracted most people’s attention
and I think all will agree that this is a work of art and restores the stations to  their
original appearance.

Donations towards the restoration of the stations  and other items connected with the
refurbishment  of the church   are very much appreciated. The cost of restoration of
each station is €300.The Committee wish to thank those who have already made a
donation.  If you or your family would like to make a donation in memory of a loved
one  please contact Fr.Sean or any member of the committee. A suitable plaque with
the names of those you wish to be  remembered will be placed in an appropriate
place in the church.

Parish Office: The Parish Office will be closed to the public but still contactable by

Béal an Átha Móir Seán Ó hEislin Help if needed

A tribute to Health Workers, neighbours and friends. A deep and heartfelt thanks to
all our brave and dedicated HEALTH WORKERS for without them this pandemic
would be unthinkable. Every day they put themselves on the frontline to help us all
survive.
The volunteers such as the list below and the thousands of neighbour and good
people who are ready to step up and look after people less able to look after
themselves. I could make a list a mile long of good and considerate behaviour from
people around Ireland. There should be a feeling of pride among us when we see
the overwhelming generosity of people willing to help and go that extra mile for our
fellowman/women.

Folks as part of the response to the COVID emergency BSOH are working with
Leitrim county council to help provide support to people in our community. We have
compiled a list of volunteers from the club who will try and assist you if required.
Don’t be afraid to call on any of the following members who will help where possible.
