Mens Shed

The arranged joint visit of the Ballinamore and Lisnaskea Mens Sheds to Glenview
Museum, Glenview Restaurant, Lawderdale Furniture and Riversdale Barges had to be
postponed due to the Covid 19 crisis, but will be fixed for another date when life returns
to normal. The local Shed members are not meeting at present but are staying in touch
via telephone or whats app, to retain social contact.

The national association has issued helpful guidelines to members through its periodical
bulletin, including tips on physical and mental well-being, diet and exercise and also
adherence to the advice from the medical experts and the government. Due to the age
profile of the majority of the members, they are cocooned at the moment, but when this
period is over, will be available and willing to offer assistance wherever necessary.
Ballinamore Shed extends sincere sympathy to our President Noel Sweeney and to all
the Sweeney family on the recent death of Noels brother, John Sweeney of The Bronx,
New York.

Comhghairdeas: In times of trouble it’s great to get some good news to lift the spirits !!! I am sure all
involved in the club will be delighted to hear that our chairman Micky and his lovely wife Maeve have
given birth to a lovely girl called Alannah. I am sure the chairman will be taking an even greater
interest in ladies football over the coming years. Best of luck to them all.

Online challenges to lift the spirits

As we all know it’s a difficult time and it can be hard to keep our young players entertained when they
are missing their friends. With that in mind our very own Ballinamore and Leitrim GAA Star player
Dean McGovern has come up with a few drills for the young stars. All you need is a ball, a wall and
for one skill a roof .So parents please show the kids thevideos you will see them online on our
Facebook page and if possible please video them and post them to the page or email
michaelmctague@hotmail.com so we can share with their friends !!! Special thanks as ever to Dean
for giving up his time for the young players.
Our ladies team have launched a new Facebook page, please give it a like to stay up to date with all
things about ladies football in the community, just search Ballinamore LGFA. The ladies have also
launched a fantastic challenge on their Facebook pages asking all members to take part in the 50
solo challenge, it’s been great Craic so far with lots of young and old players giving it a go please look
up the page to see them all and to take part.
