All Weekend Masses including St. Patrick’s Day are cancelled until further notice. Mass will be said privately for the intentions that were arranged for the weekend masses. Week day masses listed below will go ahead as normal.

Aughnasheelin Mass on Saturdays will change to 8:15pm.

Ballinamore will remain the same at 11am.

(General Recommendation from HSE & Diocese will remain in place). Please refrain from using the holy water fonts until further notice. Everyone administering communion should wash hands or use alcohol hand gel before beginning and Holy Communion should be administered on the hands only & not in the mouth. Please refrain from using your hands in the sign of peace. People who are ill should not attend religious services.

Holy Hour for Men on Sunday 22th March at 7.30pm in Aughavas church with tea and chat afterwards in the parochial house. This is a chance for men to come together to pray and support each other in the Faith.

Coronavirus: We have received the latest update from our Irish Bishops which advised the following:

  • All non-essential pastoral gatherings and meetings, such as formation gatherings, retreats and seminars are cancelled.
  • All Confirmations are postponed until further notice.
  • Every Catholic is entitled to a dignified Christian burial. Attendance at Funeral services and Masses should be limited to close relatives and must not exceed 100 attendees within the Church building. Similarly, Church weddings and baptisms may be celebrated on condition that the attendance in Church does not exceed 100 people.

In these difficult and uncertain times, people find strength, consolation and hope in prayer. Churches should remain open for prayer each day. In the current emergency situation, all are dispensed from the obligation to physically attend Sunday Mass. Parishes should inform parishioners of the local possibilities to participate in Mass via local radio and on line. It may be possible for some parishes to facilitate attendance at Mass while still observing the health authority’s limit of 100 people.

Men's Shed

Last Wednesday evening Shed members visited Drumlea Community Centre and enjoyed a pleasant evening with the Active Age group there. Michelle Fanning and Ciara Bohan from Leitrim Sports Partnership were on hand to conduct exercise sessions and to over-see games of Scooch. After a series of games it was the Ballinamore A team that came out on top, much to the annoyance of their B team. Our hosts, Drumreilly, hinted that they had let Ballinamore win, just to be sociable!! All were treated to tea/coffee and refreshments. Sincere thanks to the Drumreilly group.

Ciara Bohan will be in attendance at our meetings for the next four weeks and we thank Leitrim Sports Partnership for this very appropriate initiative.

Our Shed will participate in both the Fenagh and Ballinamore St Patrick's Day parades, unless a decision is made to cancel. A selection of items made by our Shed members will be on display. Thanks to President Noel Sweeney and Treasurer Paddy McGourty for spearheading the preparations. Some items made in conjunction with Lisnaskea Shed will also be on display.
