Recent Deaths: We pray for the souls of: Michael Sammon (Derrinkehir McDonald) whose funeral took place on Wednesday and Edward Griffin, Beckenham, Kent & formerly Rockfield, Moycullen, Galway. (Brother of Cyril Griffin, Aughnasheelin) whose funeral took place in Moycullen on Saturday Feb 29th. May they rest in peace. Our sympathy to their families.  

Baptism: We welcome Eanna Quinn into our Christian Community as she received the sacrament of Baptism last weekend. Congratulations to her parents. 

Visitation of The Sick & Housebound: Visitation of the Sick & Housebound will take place in Aughnasheelin, Corraleehan & Aughawillan on Thursday morning. Ballinamore rural area on Thursday afternoon and Ballinamore town on Friday morning. 

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL: Can all Pastoral Council members please attend meeting on Monday 2nd March at 8pm in the Parish Centre Ballinamore, to follow up on our meeting with Martin Kennedy, Thank You.  

Corona Virus: (General Recommendation from HSE & Diocese) Please refrain from using the holy water fonts until further notice. Everyone administering communion should wash hands or use alcohol hand gel before beginning and Holy Communion should be administered on the hands only & not in the mouth. People who are ill should not attend religious services.


QQI Level 4 Horticulture with Eco-Tourism course:

Ballinamore Drama Festival:  

Arrangements are falling into place for the Ballinamore Drama Festival 2020. The opening night is Friday March 6th and will continue nightly until Friday March 13th, doors open at 7.30pm and curtain at 8pm, thanking you all for your support in previous years and looking forward to increased attendances this year. Liam Scollan a true Leitrim man will officially open the festival this year. The first visiting group this year is from Dalkey Dublin and they are performing ‘Eurydice’ written by Sarah Ruhl. On Saturday 7th March we welcome Ballycogly Players from Wexford and this year they perform ‘Dreamland’ and we hope their dream comes true. Then on Sunday night it back to the Sillian Players from Co Cavan with ‘At the Black Pig’s Dyke. The full programme for the week is on Ballinamore Facebook page. Season tickets for the 8 plays are only €55.

All set for the 1st play on Friday 6th March at 8pm and the official opening by Liam Scollan. ‘Eurydice’ will be performed by the Dalkey Players, Dublin in our newly refurbished Centre. The plays will continue nightly with curtains up at 8pm sharp. Good luck to all the visiting groups and thanks to all our sponsors, committee and helpers. 


Ballinamore Parent and Toddler Group

Ballinamore Apostolic Society

are holding a church gate collection on Sunday 8th of March for the Foreign Missions. Your support would be very much appreciated. The Apostolic Society is a voluntary organisation. All money collected goes to support priests and nuns from the Kilmore diocese on the foreign missions. Thank you for your support down the years.


ARISE – Young Adult 18+ National Event

takes place in Knock Shrine on March 7th 2020. There will be inspirational speakers, music, celebration, fun, a chance to meet with other young adults and much more. Registration is from 10am and the day will finish at 4:30pm, cost €10.

Fundraising Concert

to help assisted pilgrims to go to Lourdes will be held in the Bee Park Community Centre, Manorhamilton on Sunday the 15th. March 2020 with the Glengevlin / Ballinaglera Traditional Music Group followed by Declan Nerney and his band. Doors open at 7:30. An information evening for those interested in the Combilift Traineeship

Will be held in Combilift, Monaghan on Wednesday 4th March at 7pm. There are no course fees for the Traineeship and students are supported by a financial bursary from Combilift in addition to the provision of a Tool Kit for the duration of the course. Over 80% of graduates who completed the Traineeship in the last 5 years have obtained employment with Combilift. Further information is available from www.combilift.com/training

Enrolling being accepted for Pre-Third Level full-time IT course Drumshanbo Enterprise Centre - September 2020:

Sligo Leitrim and Roscommon launch of our 2020 Senior Citizen’s Guidebook,

Friday 6th March at the Sligo Park Hotel at 16:00. The guidebook is designed specifically to support Older People and family carers. It contains information from Nutrition, health and general wellbeing, supports available to older people etc. If you know anyone the guidebook may benefit, feel free to pass it on to them, or if you could include something in newsletter or simply print the invitation. The annual charity concert of the Drumshanbo Traditional Irish Music

Course will be held in the Mayflower Community Centre, Drumshanbo on Friday, March 6th at 8pm. Doors open at 7.30pm.


Feile Fiche Fiche - Return of the Wild Geese, is the theme of this year’s concert.

The evening will be organized and performed by the students of the course and all proceeds will be shared equally among three charities; North West Hospice, Leitrim Calling and LAPWD, Leitrim Association of People with Disabilities. LAPWD provides quality assistance, respite and home care services. Leitrim Calling is a free, friendly, confidential telephone call service reaching out to older and vulnerable persons in our community. North West Hospice provides specialist care with compassion for those living with life-limiting illnesses in Sligo, Leitrim, South Donegal and West Cavan.
