Darts

On behalf of all involved in Ballinamore Darts, I would like to express sincere sympathy to the McGirl’ family on their recent sad bereavement. As a mark of respect to the McGirl family the final of the Francis McGirl Cup which was to be played Friday night last was called off. It will be played at a later date. The final of the Drino Dart singles competition will be played next Friday night the 7th as planned. The venue is McGirl’s.

 

Women’s Group

A meeting of Ballinamore Women’s Group takes place on Wednesday 5th February at 8pm. All members are asked to attend to make plans for the nee year.

 

Bridge Club

Bridge takes place on Thursday 6th February @7:30pm. All players welcome.

 

Job Seeking Skills Course in The Enterprise Centre, Ballinamore

County Leitrim Job Club will be running a Job seeking skills course in The Enterprise Centre, Ballinamore, starting on Tuesday 18th February 2020 from 10.00am to 1.00pm each day and running for four weeks. This is a free course for Jobseekers. It also includes a customer service module and certified manual handling. Benefit fund for the family of the late Mick Luby

Benefit fund for the Family of the late Mick Luby, Cloone, Co.Leitrim who died suddenly on 8th October 2019  from a rare form of Leukemia leaving behind his partner and 5 children. A Committee has been formed to fundraise for the family. A  GoFundMe  page has been set up,  a Benefit Dance has been organised in Clarkes Hotel in Mohill on Saturday 29 February 2020 at 9pm. Tickets are on sale for this event: enquiries to 086 0526324 or you can donate at an account at Mohill Post Office. Your contributions will be greatly appreciated by donating to this worthy cause by any of the three ways mentioned above.

Recent Deaths: We pray for the souls of Pat McGovern (Ballinasloe) whose funeral took place last week & Bridie McGirl, Main St whose funeral took place on Friday. Our sympathy to their  families.

Return Envelopes : Please use your weekly offertory envelope regardless of which church you attend as all envelopes are returned to their church of origin.

Proposed Stained Glass Windows for Ballinamore: a crucifixion scene of three stained glass windows has been offered to the parish as a gift from the Sisters of Charity. These were originally placed in a Convent Church in Cork. While we appreciate this generous gift, the windows need to be restored which would cost €10,000 each. These are valuable windows and would greatly enhance the sanctuary in Ballinamore Church. If you or your family would like to donate towards the cost of a window please contact Fr. Sean. A plaque bearing the names of Donors or those in whose memory donations are  made will be placed in an appropriate place in the church.

Information session for Post Leaving Certificate Business IT Drumshanbo 2020:

There will be an information session for prospective learners in Room 4, The Enterprise Centre, Hilly Rd, Drumshanbo,  Eircode N41 C6X6 on Monday 3 February 2020 from 6 pm until 8 pm. Learners will get a chance to view the facilities, chat to the coordinator and find out further details about the course from current students. The course is a one year-full time course which enables learners achieve a full level 5 QQI award (5M2468). Learners may also get the opportunity to participate in a two week funded work experience placement in Malaga in Spain towards the end of the course. The Mohill Citizens Information Outreach Clinic

will take place on Friday 7th February from 9:30am to 12:00pm in LAPWD Office, Station Road, Mohill (beside Centra Supermarket), while renovations are being completed at the Mohill Library. Drama Festival:

This year's Ballinamore Drama Festival commences on Friday 6th March and runs for eight nights, closing on Friday 13th. Season tickets for the 8 plays are only €55.
