28 January 2020

Another big crowd turned up to see the second semi final in the Francis McGirl Cup. The semi finalists were Jackies and Quinns of Fenagh, after a couple of close games early in the contest, Quinns ran out easy winners on a score line of (5) games to (2). They will now meet the poor scholar in the final Friday the 31st. Thanks to Michael and Ben McGirl and Jimmy Walsh for marking the games, thanks to Mary for refreshments and sponsorship of the raffle, and to Michael for looking after the raffle and to all who supported it. In last week’s notes I forgot to thank Ossie for his sponsorship and refreshments in the first semi final held in the Bank bar. Thanks to all who bought tickets in the raffle and to Martin Beirne  who sold the tickets. The venue for the final is Freddies starting time 10pm. On the 24th last Friday the bank hosted the finals of the youth competition, a great night of darts won by Mark Hyland beating James McNabola in the final.
