A Christmas Concert by Roscommon Solstice Choir

Will take place in the oldest surviving building in Ballinamore on Sunday 15th December, 8pm start, Oughteragh Church of Ireland, Church Lane, Ballinamore. Christmas is coming and so is Santa

Excited or What... Well we just can't wait... A few more sleeps till Santa Claus arrives in town... Dec 7th at 5.15... He will do his usual duties and switch the big display of festive lighting on. He will be joined by a surprise guest. It's a guaranteed evening of fun and laughter... Lots of goodies and surprises and a small fireworks display.... Scouts are doing their annual hot drinks and cake stand. Thanks to our sponsors and brilliant volunteers and very hard work in our great community that all this is possible... Thank you all. If anyone would like to help on the night please give Dawn a shout. So get your reindeer ready and get yourself into town with your Christmas jumpers. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Recent Deaths: We pray for the souls of Josie Roantree Gallagher late of Drumrackin whose burial took place on Saturday in the USA Our sympathy to her family.

Baptisms: We welcome Armelle Helen O’Rourke Clarke  into our church community as she was baptised last weekend in Aughnasheelin. Congratulations to her parents.

Church Counters: Reminder to church counters, the month begins according to how your weekend mass falls. New counters will be taking over this weekend in Ballinamore & Corraleehan as Sunday is the 1st Dec, but the new rota will not commence in Aughnasheelin and Aughawillan until the following weekend due to Saturday mass being 30th Nov. Thank you for your continued support.

ROSARIES, CRUCIFIXES, MEDALS etc. needed for the homes of villagers in Patwot Mvura, Uganda. Holy pictures without frames and small statues will also be accepted. Please do not donate any heavy objects. A collection box is placed at the back of St. Mary's Aughnasheelin and St. Patrick's Ballinamore.

Altar Servers: At this time of year we have a ”changing of the guard” when new servers come in and senior servers move on. Our thanks to all our servers. Their time and important ministry in much appreciated. A special word of gratitude to parents for your time and encouragement in assisting you children in their ministry. Our hope is that children will enjoy, benefit from and feel safe while participating in church activities. In this regard we appeal to parents that you be present for your allotted time as an Adult Leader in the Church Sacristy or whenever requested to do so.

Bereavement Mass: A big thank you to all who were involved in making this Mass a very special occasion, to Fr Sean who made the Mass so special for all and for his inspirational words of comfort, Fr Johnnie for concelebrating, to those who participated in the Mass thank you, those who prepared the Hall and to Detta and Josephine who helped with the Refreshments - this was deeply appreciated by all who attended.

St. Vincent de Paul Ballinamore: St. Vincent de Paul are holding our Annual Church Gate Collection next weekend Sat 7th Dec & Sunday 8th Dec at all masses in Ballinamore, Aughnasheelin, Drumreilly, Fenagh, Corraleehan and Aughnasheelin. Senior Citizens Christmas Party…

The annual senior citizens Christmas party will be held in the Commercial Hotel next Sunday, December 8th. All senior citizens in Ballinamore, Aughnasheelin, Aughawillan and Corraleehan areas are welcome to attend. Tickets are currently being distributed but you may come along without a ticket. Anyone wishing to avail of a lift to or from the party please contact any committee member. Any queries call 087 7541234. New History of Leitrim:

A new history of Leitrim called Leitrim history and society: Interdisciplinary essays on the history of an Irish county which was edited by Msgr Liam Kelly & Dr Brendan Scott will be launched by Bryan Dobson, RTE, next Friday 6 December 2019, at 6.30pm in Áras an Chontae in Carrick on Shannon. Templeport Day Centre:

Last day of Day Centre for 2019 is next Wednesday 4th December so we will be having a small Christmas party on the day. Thanks to all who supported us during the year. A special guest will be at the centre on the day. HO HO HO.


A meeting of Ballinamore Women's Group

takes place on  Wednesday 4th at 8pm. It is also party night. The Christmas dinner is on 14 December and payment will be collected at this meeting. All members are asked to attend.


Leitrim County Council – Hedge Cutting Grant Scheme 2019 -Leitrim County Council

invites Applications for the Hedge Cutting Grant Scheme 2019. This Scheme aims to encourage Landowners and Local Communities/Residents to cut roadside hedges/trees along public roads. The Grant is €75 per km of roadside hedges cut back. The Minimum length of roadside hedges to be cut is 2km per application. Aughnasheelin Tea Party:

On Friday 27th December at 6.30 ‘The Aughnasheelin Tea Party’ will take place in the Community Centre in conjunction with Aughnasheelin GAA Healthy Club Initiative. The event is planned to bring together people from all corners of the parish and beyond, in what will be a relaxing evening of light entertainment, craic and loads of spot prizes. We are looking for 12 people to host a table each on the night, their task will be to bring 9 others to fill the table with them. If you are interested in hosting a table for this wonderful occasion please contact any of the following people by Sunday next 1st December. Church of Ireland Church Street, Ballinamore, Sunday Service is at 12.15pm every Sunday except on the 4th Sunday which is held in Drumreilly Church, Drumreilly.


Used Clothes Collection:

Ballinamore Sean O’Heslins U16 girls are having a used clothes collection to raise funds for training gear. Clothes, paired shoes, belts, handbags, curtains, towels & bedlinen are accepted. Bags can be dropped off at the Clubhouse on Tuesday 19th Nov between 7-8pm. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
