Senior Championship

The senior lads put in another fine display on Saturday in Cloone against St Mary’s winning by a score of 3:08 to 0:06. The win leaves the lads top of group two with three wins out of three with matches against Allen Gaels and Aughnasheelin left to be played.

The win by our senior lads was excellent but there was unfortunately a black cloud on another wise bright day with Our Goalie Philip Farrelly suffering a leg break which required surgery. Everyone at the club would like to wish Philip a speedy recovery and we hope to see him back in action soon.

Intermediate Championship

Our intermediate lads were in action against Annaduf on Sunday and we’re beater by a score of 1:12 to 0:09. The defeat left the lads bottom of their group on 0 points after three games played. Hopefully the lads can get a couple of good results which they deserve in their final matches against Drumkeeran and Carrigallen.

Junior Championship

The junior lads were also in action this weekend against Leitrim Gaels in their opening match of this years Vistamed Junior B Championship. The lads started their campaign well with a good victory and a score of 4:10 to 0:11, the lads will be next in action against Bornacoola next  Saturday in Cloone at 17:30.

Minor ladies

Well done to the Minor Ladies who had a big win over Glencar Manorhamilton last night to secure their spot in the 15-a-side Championship final.

No game next week so the final group stage match is against Fenagh/Kiltubrid in Ballinamore on August 21st.

MacDiarmada Gaels

The u17 lads have been in fine form and came  up against an excellent Fenagh team on Monday evening in Ballinamore in a titanic semi final  match. Fenagh looked to be in control in the first half going in at half time leading by a score of 0:11 to 0:04 and with us down to 14 men. They talk about games of two halves and devastating football and the Gaels certainly came out in the second half and produced it all. Few in the large crowd expected such a turn around but that’s what they were treated to with the lads despite being down to 14 scoring 4 goals and 11 points to a solitary Fenagh score. It was a fantastic and determined display from the lads who deservedly have now reached the championship final against St Mary’s.

Our u13 Black team were also in action this week against St Mary’s  in round 4 of the championship, the lads put in a good display in difficult conditions but were  beaten by a score of 10:17 to 2:11, a difficult result against a very good side. Our Amber team we’re also in action against St Mary’s and out in a great display winning by a score of 6:14 to 5:13 with Harry Prior scoring the pick of the goals with a fine effort. .

Historical display

Seán Ó Súilleabháin and his team have recently completed a historical display of images in our club rooms which chart all of our successes over the years. There are some fantastic images and we would recommend all our followers to take a look over the coming weeks, special thanks to Sean and his team for all the hard work they have put into this fantastic display.
